Ìý Ìý Dr. Tom Tierney, the academic director for the Information and Communications Technology program and professor of the practice, retired from the University of Denver this month after ten years of service to DU. Dr. Tierney joined University College in fall 2007 as the director of the Computer Information Systems and Telecommunications programs. Dr. Tierney brought years of information technology corporate experience to the university after successful appointments at AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Avaya, and Bell Laboratories. “Tom’s leadership will be missed,” said Michael McGuire, dean of University College. “I have always appreciated Tom’s thoughtful and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.” During his tenure, Dr. Tierney grew the ICT program from our third largest graduate program to the largest program offered at University College.
